HUSBAND “TORTURE”

CALCUTTA NOV 25 2008

The high court today rejected the anticipatory bail plea of a woman fearing arrest for her husband’s alleged torture and death.
Mihir Sarkar of Dhubulia, Nadia, hanged himself in his in-laws house this month.
Ananya,25, who was earlier accused of beating up her mother in-law, had apparently charged her husband and in-laws with torture when they protested. Mihir was arrested follwing that complaint, bt his wife withdrew the case and went back to her in-laws.
“When he became a mental wreck, she wanted to have him treated from her parents house.” Mihir’s brother said.
A lawyer described the case as “rare because the husband was allegedly driven to a death”. “Mihir had called a friend and revealed how he was being tortured.” He added.
Manik Das said Mihir had called him the night before he committed suicide.
Ananya’s lawyer Sekhar Basu said she had “nothing to do with the death”.

Liberisation of woman??

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Cities/38_of_HIV_hit_in_Goa_are_women/articleshow/3782166.cms The article depicts that nowadays women are not ready to stand beside helpless husband. So women liberation means to kick out the husband from your life if he undergoes a fatal disease. I think court must not grant their divorce and should tell them to fight with your husband.
We see rallies ...some celebrities are out with placards that fight against HIV ...raising sympathy for HIV patients...we need to stay aside those patients.
But if life-partner cut away relationship with husband than how come the society stays beside the victim?
