SURAT: A woman, who had kidnapped six-month-old son of a snake charmer from the slum area of Sachin two months ago, has been arrested in Noida. A
team of officials from Sachin police station has been dispatched to secure the custody of the infant. According to police, Vikram (6), son of Dharunath Madari, had gone missing on June 19. "Dharunath, who earns his living as a snake charmer, mentioned a woman named Soneri as suspect in his complaint. Soneri used to live in the hut near Dharunath's and visited his house frequently to play with Vikram. The woman had two daughters, but did not have a son. This might have prompted her to kidnap the child," said an official from Sachin police station. "As Soneri, who used to beg, hailed from Delhi, we alerted Delhi police. A team of officials from here was also sent to Delhi just three days after the incident. Meanwhile, acting on the description provided by us, officials of Noida police station managed to arrest Soneri and secure the child's custody. Vikram is safe and sound and will be handed over to his mother soon," the official added.

Six "Mahila Ashram" inmates make bid for freedom
KANPUR: Around six inmates of the Rajkiya Mahila Ashram once again created ruckus and made an abortive attempt to escape from the ashram premises
here on Wednesday morning. Reports further stated that Siyarani, who was lodged under section 22 of the IPC at the Rajkiya Mahila Ashram in Swaroopnagar, made an unsuccessful attempt to escape from the ashram along with five other inmates. Siyarani, a resident of Chitrakoot district, was brought to the ashram about three-four months back in connection with an elopement case, in which her husband had accused her of eloping with her paramour during her stay at her in-laws' place in Chitrakoot. Ashram sources said Siyarani, along with five other inmates, identified as Lakhshmi, Shalu, Sudha, Babli and Geeta, reached the gates of the ashram and tried to flee from there in the presence of guard Surendra Nath and other security personnel. They were chased and overpowered. The matter was immediately brought to the notice of senior district officials. However, on being questioned by senior administrative officials, the inmates claimed they were constantly being harassed by other inmates and staff of the Rajkiya Mahila Ashram. It was due to that reason that they had made a bid for freedom on Wednesday morning. The ashram authorities, however, refuted their allegations as baseless. ADM City Shakuntala Gautam and circle officer, Swaroopnagar, Karunakar Rao also visited the ashram to take note of the situation. It may be recalled that 15 of the 69 women-inmates of the Rajikya Mahila Ashram escaped on July 29 (also a Wednesday morning). Out of the 15 inmates, the whereabouts of eight escapees is yet to be ascertained.

Headmistress suspended for violating flag code
MYSORE: Bhagyavathi, the headmistress of government composite high school, Vinayakanagar, was suspended for violating the flag code of India 2002,
on Monday. As per the code the flag should be flown from sunrise to sunset, irrespective of weather conditions. Whereas, the national flag which was hoisted at the school during Independence Day celebrations on Saturday, was not removed from the flagstaff till Monday. It is a violation of the code. Following information by a section of people about the incident, education officials along with police visited the school and found the flag still on the flagstaff. The ZP CEO has suspended the HM for violating the code, said in-charge DDPI Narasimhaiah.

CAIRO: A 25-year-old Egyptian waitress, ‘addicted to men’ and had allegedly married seven times in 45 days has been arrested by the police in
Hurghada on charges of polygamy. Working in a tourist resort the waitress allegedly developed sexual relationships
with young men. Sexual relationships out of wedlock are prohibited by law in Egypt. However, she used to write an unofficial marriage agreement before any new relationship. The waitress met a young contractor in the cafe who soon fell for her and proposed. A few days into the marriage, her new husband, Ramadan discovered one of the unofficial marriage agreements dating a few days before they got married. When confronted, she reportedly confessed she was ‘addicted to men’ and had married seven times in 45 days. Two of the marriages were only ten hours apart. She also confessed she was pregnant. The husband filed an official complaint against his wife and the police detained her on charges of forgery, fornication and polygamy.

GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Police, along with the special operation group (SOG) of UP Police, have claimed to have solved the August 3 kidnapping of
one of the leading heart surgeons of the city, Dr K M Singh. Singh was released by his abductors on August 5 after ransom was allegedly paid. The kidnapping shocked the medical community in Ghaziabad, prompting the local IMA unit to go on a one-day strike last Tuesday. The arrested include Navneet, a resident of Sahibabad, and his kin a mother-daughter duo Nirmala (56) and Reena (28). Four other family members who allegedly took part in the crime are absconding. According to SSP Ghaziabad Akhil Kumar, the plan was primarily hatched by Navneet, a medical representative, and some of his family members who were aware of the doctor's social status and monthly income. "The plan of kidnapping the doctor was hatched by Navneet who works with a firm in Pitampura in Delhi. Navneet was lured into plotting the crime by his distant cousin Arun alias Pintu. Pintu asked Navneet to choose the target. Accordingly Navneet, who often visited the doctor on work, chose Singh. After 15 days of planning and surveillance, they decided to take the victim to Atta village near Meerut the residence of one Neeraj who is absconding with Pintu, Ajay and Shailendra, the other accused,'' said DSP (Ghaziabad) Rahul Srivastav. The accused followed the victim from his Patel Nagar clinic at Ghaziabad to the Pannalal Hospital on the night of August 3. They used country-made weapons to threaten him and push him into his own Honda City car. "They used the doctor's own phone to seek a Rs 1 crore ransom even as they were on their way to Meerut. The doctor's family agreed to pay a ransom of Rs 55 lakh and it was paid at Rohta Road near Meerut town. The accused released the doctor on August 5, the day the money changed hands. We got information from our sources about Navneet and after several days of surveillance, we arrested him. Based on his interrogation, we raided Pintu's residence at Dwarka, but he had escaped. We arrested his sister and mother, Nirmala and Reema who knew about the crime and was handling the ransom money. In all, we recovered Rs 16.70 lakh from the three accused. Pintu had the the highest portion of money and his arrest is vital for the case,'' added Srivastav. The police, though maintained that the they came to know about the incident only on August 7 when a missing case was registered at the Sihani Gate police station. The family allegedly did not inform police about the ransom payment too. "However, we will arrest all culprits soon,'' said Kumar.

Mother kills 3-yr-old son
KENDRAPADA: A-25-year-old woman killed her three-month-old son by flinging him into a river at a village called Hatiapada in Kendrapada district on
Monday. Then Anapurna, said cops at Rajkanika police station, tried to end her life. "But some villagers stopped her from jumping into the river," said a police officer. Her husband, Bipin, is suffering from an illness for long. "The family is very poor and a lot of money has been spent on Bipin's treatment. Maybe, the woman was in a state of extreme depression. We are probing the case," said the police officer.

Tampa, Florida: Authorities said a bullet from a gun that was accidentally dropped injured a Tampa woman sitting in a bathroom stall. Police said the bullet hit 53-year-old Janifer Bliss in the lower left leg. She was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Bliss was sitting on the toilet in a hotel bathroom when a woman in the next stall accidentally let her handgun slip out of her waist holster. The weapon discharged when it hit the ground.
Police said the gun belonged to a 56-year-old woman who has a concealed weapons permit.

Careless lady learner crushed woman
A woman in her early 40s, was crushed under the wheels of an Ambassader after its driver lost control and mounted a pavement in Chetla on Monday.
The driver, a young woman sped away after hitting Arati Monadl on 2H Alipore Avenue around 3:40 pm. Mondal died on way to SSKM hospital.
Later on the evening police spotted the vehicle in Sarsuna,Behala. The fatal squad of traffic police has started a probe into the accident.
"Witnesses gave us the vehicle registration number and we traced the car owner. The woman was learning to drive and lost control." The police said.

SLAP BY FEMALE TEACHER MEANT TO DISCIPLINE 8-YR SCHOOLGIRL IN CLASS KILLS
An eight girl went into coma and didn’t regain consciousness after her lady yoga teacher allegedly slapped her so ahrd that she lost her balance and rammed her head against a wall. Iftesham Chowdhury, student of class II ,Vidya Bharati School in Mominpur, died at the Calcutta Medical Reaserchinstitute(CMRI).
Iftesham, a niece of breakway CPM leader Saifuddin Chowdhury, complained of headache after lunch break and lost consciousness soon after. When principal Anjana Mallick enquired whether she had been ill since coming to the school, her class mate said their teacher Anita Das slapped her during previous class.
Ifteshman’s father Mansoor Rahaman filed complaint against Anita Das with Ekhbalpur police station after speakeing his daughter friends. The police registered a case but hadn’t arrested the teacher till the last night..
“We first need to speak the students, teachersand parents.Only after that we consider charging Anita with culpable of homicide (not amounting to murder).” Deputy police commissioner Anand Kumar said.
Principal told “Anita Das told me that Iftesham was restive in class and not listening to her . So she slapped her in the face but not so hard. It was fact that Das and school coordinator Chandana Ghosh who took her to hospital.”
The yoga teacher Anita wasn unavailable for comments. Student’s father though tell “ My girl was hale and hearty when she went to school.” Elether brother Saifuddin said it was a shame that a school girl lost her life because of an incident involving a lady teacher.
“There are child protection laws in the country and an incident such as this calls for exemplary punishment.” He added.

Later Mr. Das told “Several attempt over past two days to contact yoga teacher have proved furtile. We left a letter at her house saying she would have to surrender by Monday. If she does not, we will serve her a termination letter.”
“Corporal punishment is banned. It is cleared that Anita violated the law.” Principal said.
Estranged father of the girl during burial said ”The female took my daughter’s life, but police slapped a soft charge on her. They should have started a murder case against her. The charge slapped against Anita is bailable and punishable with a maximum 2 yrs only!!
Day by day cruelty of female teachers increase in west bengal. Recently in a rural school, the girls and boys of whole class were being kneel downed by headmistress.Their only crime not to bring books which are too costly for them. The teachers beat the small children in face, tugged their hair mercilessly.
